Hero is a martial-arts (wuxia) MMORPG set in a mythical ancient China — a land of rival schools, wandering heroes and forgotten gods. Its story was written by three generations of Chinese novelists and draws on wuxia legends and Asian mythology.

A world without balance

For centuries the great martial-arts houses kept the peace between the righteous path and the forces of darkness. When their alliance broke, the old temples fell silent, bandit lords took the mountain passes and creatures of legend returned to the wilds. Villages now depend on the few warriors who still walk the path of the hero.

Six destinies

Every journey begins with one of six heroes — The Ruthless Blade, The Piercing Eyes, The Overseer of Sky, The Elegant Mystic, The Mystic Muse and The Monk. Each carries a different past and a different style of fighting, and each will be tested by the same question: will you use your power to restore order, or to rule?

Legends and side stories

The main story unfolds through Legend quests that follow the fate of the land, while Side Story quests — written by well-known martial-arts novelists — tell the tales of the people you meet along the way. Tavern clerks, guards, scholars and masters all have a part to play.

The temples

Today the five great temples — Flame Wolf, Lighting Hill, Western Land, Serene Sky and Whispering Woods — are the prize of every guild. Whoever holds a temple holds the respect of the realm. Your legend starts the moment you step outside the village gate.
